Rilya is an innocent young girl who is missing, you would never have heard of her if she hadn't been a child of the state. Rilya's media coverage was based on DCF. NOT based on a beautiful child being missing.

The RILYA Alert system was created by the staff at Peas In Their Pods, along with the creator of the Amber Alert, to help spread awareness about the fact that African American children account for over 33% of all missing and abducted children. However, they typically fail to receive adequate media coverage. Although other alert systems exist, oftentimes African American children are not recognized.
The RILYA Alert system was created to help spread awareness about the disproportionate amount of media attention that missing African American children receive. This alert system will help to bridge this discrepancy by shortening the response time in which the crucial information is shared with the public.
We ask for your help on helping to spread awareness about this issue because we believe that it’s everyone’s job to help save our children!

When all the instructions on "How To" for this website had been absorbed, the first two songs had been added, and the first phone call to someone that we knew possessed a Personal Computer to promote our Website and to tell them to be the first to leave a message the Guestbook, we received a question via email inquiring as to the Goal that we were trying to reach - if any, in collecting messages on our Guestbook.
The Inquiring Mind wanted to know how many Messages would we be satisfied with initially, to consider our reaching out to be succesful. The answer we gave after chewing only "half" of a top of an inkpen cap (down from the usual two caps) was and remains "One Million".
If we can get ONE MILLION people to simply leave a Message on our Guestbook, only then will we consider our fight successful up until now. This will mean that One Million Eyes have viewed our Website, One Million Hearts have felt us, and that One Million of our African-American Sisters and Brothers have been made aware of that fact that we are fighting like mad to stop Child Abuse among our people.
